As the Quality Engineer, you will be integral to the team for process and product improvements, rootcause analysis and a primary responsibility to meet our customer expectations. You will be responsiblefor developing the operating instructions for our formulas and improvements to these. You will work withmanufacturing site stakeholders to ensure the site meets its key performance indicators.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to drive positive changes in operations that lead to operationalexcellence and reduced operational costs. You will teach, train, and mentor other members of theoperations staff on quality management best practices. Additionally, you will be a quality ambassador for the manufacturing site, facilitating a culture that isconducive to ensuring final products are safe and meet customer expectations.
Job Requirements
Working to Identify and champion opportunities for continuous improvement initiatives, OEEOverall Equipment Effectiveness) improvements, etc. Incorporate principles of leanmanufacturing such as 5S, key TPS (Toyota Production System), TPM (Total ProductiveMaintenance) elements, etc. In coordination with the Maintenance and ProductionCoordinators, manage the TPM implementation schedule.
Complaint handling: Receiving complaints from customer service department, analyze process oriented complaints, making decisions that could influence a process, coordinating the processof root cause analysis of the complaint with other disciplines, and implementing corrective andpreventive actions to eliminate causes for complaints.
Implementing and tracking operational key performance indicators (KPI) in relation to quality.Team member in driving excellence of other goals in the plant. Ensures all quality and safetypractices are followed always. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Complying to local and government regulations, ISO standards and customer requirements bymaintaining document management system, assessing the risk of site process, and updatinglocal policies and procedures as necessary.
Internal Auditing: Work with site operations team to develop and execute risk-based auditplans to mitigate quality risk.
Fostering and maintaining good employee relations through all the appropriate methods ofcommunications and positive employee relations practices.
Required Experience:
Preferred experience in Food Industry
3 years experience in a variety of disciplines including quality, manufacturing, and/or crossfunctional teams
Microsoft Excel
Mathematical/Statistics Skills
Preferred Experience:
Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt preferred
CQE
HACCP Certified
Prior experience in continuous improvement initiatives and Lean implementation a plus
SAP
