The Senior Department Administrator is responsible for the management and oversight of operations and financial matters for the SOM Department of Physiology. Includes but is not limited to: Financial, Human Resources, Grants/Contracts Activities, Strategic Planning, Office Management Operations. Responsible for financial management of the SOM THRCE Hypertension Center.•Ability to supervise others successfully
•Understanding budget development and management, including grants
•Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to interact professionally and courteously with individuals at all levels.
•Ability to multi-task, prioritizes work assignments, and meet established or anticipated deadlines.
•Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment while maintaining confidentiality, integrity and discretion in the performance of all duties
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Excellent organization skills
•Proficient in use of Microsoft Office programs
•Bachelor's Degree and 5 years various managerial and financial positions, including personnel, budgeting, and grants financial management.
OR
•High School Diploma/equivalent and 9 years' years various managerial and financial positions, including personnel, budgeting, and grants financial management.
•Master's level education
•Experience working in higher education
•Three years' experience with extramural research funding
