We are looking for a Director of Inventory to join our team. This role will be based out of our Mahwah, NJ or Middleton, MA office which operate in hybrid work settings.
The Director of Inventory Planning is responsible for leading the inventory planning capabilities for the Orchard Portfolio. This role is responsible for developing and leading the execution of inventory strategies that ensure optimal inventory statuses for each of the 4 brands. Partners collaboratively with other functional leaders within the Portfolio as well as Supply Chain and Finance leaders. This position is also responsible for the demand planning analyses that inform decisions and measure performance.
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES**
* Leads the Inventory Planning function for the Orchard Portfolio through the entire product lifecycle to achieve key inventory and profitability goals.
* Responsible for the development and implementation of inventory strategies with partnerships with Merchandising, Marketing, Sourcing, Logistics, and Finance.
* Collaborate with the Orchard Portfolio leadership team, other key internal partners such as in Finance, and 3rd party partners to develop modernized processes, tools, and capabilities that support a multi-channel but digitally-driven business.
* Lead the team in the prediction of demand and margin patterns in the pursuit of defining required optimum inventory levels throughout the entire product life cycle.
* Establish optimal inventory levels and replenishment plans to ensure availability and minimize wasted stock.
* Ensure all inventory forecasts support demand plans and comply with open-to-buy constraints.
* Develop strategies with sourcing partners that support private label penetration goals and average unit cost budgets.
* Deliver on the execution of key customer-facing goals including initial and final fill rate, backorder, and sold-out rates.
* Direct the inventory liquidation process by optimizing sell-thru of obsolete products and maximizing margin recovery.
* Responsible for management of drop-ship vendor performance
* Develop and mentor all members of the inventory team.
* Lead a team of managers and analysts in the prediction of demand and margin patterns in pursuit of defining required inventory levels throughout the entire product lifecycle.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
* Requires a Bachelors degree and minimum 12 years experience.
* Experience driving inventory planning in a multi-channel, multi-brand environment.
* Demonstrated success leading inventory for a complex business.
* Ability to effectively execute inventory planning strategies.
* Successful in developing and retaining superior organization talent through coaching, teaching and mentoring.
* Ability to make operation decisions using data analytics.
* Outstanding communication skills with the ability to guide relationships at all levels.
* Strong leadership skills to communicate and drive business plans that reinforce company culture, champion projects and initiatives, improves sales and gain market share.
