Our Opportunity

North American Lighting (NAL) is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will supervise and coordinate the activities and personnel of the Manufacturing Engineering department, which includes support for new launch development and day-to-day technical issues for the assembly process in the plant with a focus on scrap and downtime reduction.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Your Priorities

+ Assigns, supervises, and evaluates the work of the manufacturing engineers and manufacturing engineering technicians.

+ Provides leadership and guidance within the department for the support of new product launch teams.

+ Coordinates the timely input of the BOM/routings, and helps to ensure that production rates and machine cycle times are available for input for all new products per the established project plan.

+ Assists in planning for adequate floor space for assembly line location, storage, and work-in-process (WIP), as well as in the preparation of materials/product flow plans.

+ Assists in the management of the department, as well as in the development of annual departmental goals, headcount, and budgets.

+ Evaluates departmental training needs, schedules employees for training, and/or conducts the training of manufacturing engineers and manufacturing engineering technicians in accordance with their overall responsibilities within the department.

Requirements

Your Background

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a technical discipline, plus 6 - 8 years of experience in manufacturing environment to include:

+ 2 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering

+ 2 years of experience in a lead, supervisory, or management position.

Experience in an engineering function with an automotive lighting manufacturer is preferred.
