About The Team

API Tooling team's mission is to build applications and deliver services that provide Workday developers with a compelling productive developer platform experience. About The Role
As a manager of API Tooling team, you will be responsible for leading a very talented team of multifaceted developers to build and maintain Workday's API Tooling that is powering our developer platform and integration experience.
An ideal candidate for this role is able to operate independently and deal with ambiguity, cares deeply about developers and is excited by rolling up their sleeves to ensure we are building the right tooling for developers and customers.
What does a Software Development Manager do at Workday?
Experience delivering high-performance, high-throughput solutions.
Collaborate with team members by white-boarding and working through ideas with constructive collaboration from the rest of the team and vice-versa.
Share knowledge via mentoring, reviewing code, reviewing design docs or giving technical talks.
Build critical systems at scale and partner closely with stakeholders
Hire, grow, and mentor the team
Manage the development for the platform that drives core business transactions for some of the world’s biggest companies
Our Tech: Java, Typescript, React, Microservices
About You
Basic Qualifications:
3 years of experience in software engineering leadership roles
5 years of experience in Development or Test Automation
3 years of experience in services technologies (SOAP, REST, Swagger, GraphQL, etc.)
Other Qualifications:
Proficient in agile methodologies and accustomed to fast-paced environments
Proven track record of coordinating the development and delivery of complex software projects
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Strong technical background and expertise in guiding projects
Passionate about fostering an inclusive and collaborative team culture that empowers career growth
Solid understanding of Software development lifecyle and SAAS offerings
Experience in working with Enterprise Software
Experience in working with Workday Platforms is desirable but not a necessity
Holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Primary Location Base Pay Range: $176,000 USD - $264,000 USD
Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $140,600 USD - $264,000 USD
