We have four opportunities to join the Alliance as an Operations Reporting Analyst in the Operations Management Department.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Operations Management Department is a new department at the Alliance, developed to bring health plan operations data management and reporting under one umbrella to help drive timely business decisions through insights and analyses. The department consists of three teams: Provider Data Management, Member Data Management, and Operations Reporting. The Operations Reporting team will collaborate closely with the Alliance’s Data Analytics Services team in the Information Technology Division.
ABOUT THESE POSITIONS
We are filling four Operations Reporting Analyst positions in total, ranging from level II to level IV. These roles will be reporting to the Operations Reporting Manager and will lead dashboard, data mart and report design and development, and performance of ad hoc data analysis. Level III and IV Analysts will work with more complex data sources and/or across multiple data topics, and the level IV Analyst will also serve as a subject matter expert and lead to lower-level Analysts. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Experience in analyzing health plan data
Experience in designing and developing ways for data to be quickly analyzed by operations colleagues (i.e. extracts, reports, dashboards and visuals)
Experience in facilitating requirements-gathering for problems to be solved and questions to be answered using data
The desire to understand the business and the role data plays in supporting operations initiatives
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
Knowledge of: The health care industry, the Medi-Cal and/or Medicare programs, and managed care concepts
Methods and techniques of research, data analysis, and reporting
SQL and other data querying methodology
Information technology systems, databases, and reporting tools
Tableau or other reporting development software
Ability to: Identify issues, conduct research, analyze and interpret data, reach logical and sound conclusions, and make recommendations for action
Translate a reporting need into detailed report requirements to inform data mining and report writing processes
Create datasets and build reports from datasets
Review data to ensure data integrity and quality and to identify data anomalies
Interpret reporting requirements and ensure accuracy of data reported
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Business, Public Administration, Healthcare, or a related field
A minimum of three years of experience in healthcare operations which included a minimum of one year of experience performing data analysis and/or operational reporting (a Master’s degree may substitute for two years of the required experience); or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be qualifying
Note: the education and experience qualifications listed above are for the level II Analyst position. Required years of experience increases for the level III and level IV positions. See full position descriptions below for full requirements.
We are in a hybrid work environment and we anticipate that the interview process will take place remotely via Microsoft Teams.
While some staff may work full telecommuting schedules, attendance at quarterly company-wide events or department meetings will be expected.
In-office or in-community presence may be required for some positions and is dependent on business need. Details about this can be reviewed during the interview process.
The hiring compensation range for this position is listed below.
The actual compensation for this role will be determined by our compensation philosophy, analysis of the selected candidate's qualifications (direct or transferrable experience related to the position, education or training), as well as other factors (internal equity, market factors, and geographic location).
Operations Reporting Analyst II: $75k - $100k
Operations Reporting Analyst III: $85k - $115k
Operations Reporting Analyst IV: $95k - $135k
