Position Overview
This position of Data Integration Engineer is based in Denver reporting to the Director of Data & Analytics. This role is invested in the data warehousing project to further Northwood reporting and analysis for decisions management. The Data Integration Engineer will be involved in a variety of areas inclusive of integration development, business application workflows, process automation, and delivering Northwood business data application requirements and reporting.
The ideal candidate has Data Integration / Business Systems / Finance related experience and is looking for the opportunity to get broad exposure and grow their current skill set within an industry leading dynamic organization.
Key Responsibilities
Data Integration Development
Responsible for ETL workflow solutions to build historical data layers of new datasets, production deployments of complex loads and support of metadata framework methodologies.
Works with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors to develop and maintain data pipelines sourcing data from disparate source systems.
Builds and maintains python pipeline development and manages infrastructure monitoring.
Collaborate with internal business systems and external vendors to aggregate, transform, and interpret data from multiple sources to help structure data in a centralized data warehouse
Analyze processes and data to identify problem areas and assist with making recommendations for system modifications or other improvements.
Business Data Management
Assist in supporting project teams to deliver solutions to optimize business efficiencies for Northwood and participate in special project initiatives to support technology needs for the business.
Maintains documentation best practices for written code/procedures including mapping documents.
Supports the development and deployment of business intelligence and data visualization tools.
Supports change management around existing data warehouse reports and deliverables based on business feedback.
Education And Required Experience
Bachelor degree in Information Systems, Software Engineering, or similar technical discipline
Experience writing complex SQL and takes initiative in SQL script tuning/performance optimization, including debugging and error checking.
Experience using Office 365, specifically Excel (Power Pivot, Power Query) and Power Automate
Experience using ETL tools such as SSIS, Alteryx, Informatica, DataStage, Pentaho, DBT, Azure Data Factory
Experience preparing user-facing reports with Power BI or similar tool
Desired Skills
Experience developing and deploying AWS Microservices, specifically with Lambda and EC2
Experience developing/supporting/troubleshooting Visual Basic code, Shell Scripting, Python/JavaScript
Knowledge and experience of cloud architecture patterns, and the cloud platforms, especially AWS
Knowledge of the financial industry and investment data management concepts
Knowledge of Business Intelligence Tools (SSRS, Power BI, OBIEE, Tableau, etc.)
Knowledge of Snowflake Data Warehousing environments, Oracle DB, MySQL, Postgres SQL.
Knowledge of MRI, Yardi, Investran, or similar ERP systems
