Our team is looking for a Data Engineer who can contribute to our mission with their expertise in database technologies and data processing. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing databases, data processing solutions, and partner integrations that are scalable, highly available, and efficient. Your role involves working with high-velocity data streams/events, building robust ETL / ELT data pipelines, and ensuring our database solutions are optimized for multi-regional deployments and resiliency to meet application performance requirements.
Note: This is a hybrid role based out of our Princeton, New Jersey location. You will be expected to be in the office for a minimum of 2-3 days/week.
What you’ll do:
Database Technology Expertise: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of application backend database technologies including NoSQL and SQL Databases, and AWS services like Redshift, Postgres, Dynamo, MongoDB, and Aurora.
High-Velocity Data Stream Processing: Manage the messaging and processing of high-velocity data streams, ensuring efficiency and reliability.
Data Pipeline Construction: Build and maintain data pipelines, ensuring they are robust and scalable to meet our evolving data needs.
Scalable and Highly Available Solutions: Design database solutions that are highly available and scalable, particularly for multi-regional deployments.
Sharding: Implement database sharding strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
AWS Environment Proficiency: Utilize AWS services and other modern Data Processing technologies effectively, from simple ETLs and event processing to being able to build fully functional machine learning pipelines.
Automated back and recovery: design database services to ensure recoverability, data integrity and redundancy
Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with cross-functional teams, providing leadership and expertise in data architecture and database management.
Innovation and Optimization: Continuously explore new technologies and methodologies to improve data processing and storage capabilities.
About you:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Extensive experience as a Data Architect or in a similar role.
Deep understanding of backend database technologies, both SQL and NoSQL.
Proficient in AWS cloud services, particularly Redshift, Aurora, Glue, and Data Catalogue.
Experience with machine learning pipelines and data processing.
Knowledge of high-velocity data stream processing and building data pipelines.
Experience in designing scalable and highly available database solutions, including multi-regional deployments and sharding.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in dynamic environments.
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
Compensation and Benefits:
The final compensation package for this role will be determined during the interview process and is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, geographic location, internal equity, education, skill set, experience and training.
