JOB TITLE: Staff Accountant
The Staff Accountant will research and analyze financial information to help the company make well informed decisions, write reports and monitor financial movements by managing daily accounting tasks. You will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company’s finances. Preparing financial statements and reporting are a large part of the staff accountant’s day-to-day work. The staff accountant will be well-versed in accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to detail. The goal is to contribute to the overall efficient operation of the department and help the company be fully aware of its financial condition. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include but are not limited too are:
Prepares weekly/monthly cashflow model
Assists with month end close including GL reconciliations (i.e. Inventory, Fixed Assets, Etc.)
Reconciles general bank accounts by gathering and balancing information.
Assists with preparing fixed asset depreciation schedule
Maintains accounting controls by following policies and procedures
Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed
Demonstrates appropriate understanding/working knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls and apply them.
Assists in reviewing financial data by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
Assists in developing new finance/accounting staff members
Understands AR and AP processes and supervises AR and AP staff to ensure that policies and procedures are being followed.
Maintains confidentiality of financial information, investment decisions, or any other tasks assigned by the
Organization
Validates Commission reports against sales on a monthly basis
Prepares financial ad-hoc reports, charts, tables and other exhibits as requested
Corrects errors by posting adjusting journal entries
Adjusting entries for amortizations prepaids
Increase productivity by streamlining accounting processes.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
Ability to look at a computer screen for extended periods of time
Ability to maintain a composed and professional demeanor within a flexible and (at times noisy) work environment

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of one to three years’ experience in the accounting field or in a similar role
Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, finance, accounting, or economics, or any finance related degree
Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Good interpersonal skills, detail oriented, self-motivated and organized
Good research, quantitative, and analytical skills
Good communication and presentation skills – verbal and oral
Ability to prioritize task, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment
Good knowledge of laws, government regulations, and legislation that affect the financial industry
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one to three years’ experience as a junior financial analyst, financial analyst, or in a similar role
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or economics, or any finance related degree
