Who you are:
As a Software Engineer III - Payments at Frost, you are our code guru, not only writing code but understanding the "why" behind it. Our software engineers believe in collaboration, ingenuity, and truly want to drive design and change in the IT realm. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, writing, testing, implementing, supporting, and documenting solutions for assigned programs and applications across the organization. You welcome a challenge and want to provide next level experiences to every individual that uses our systems.
What you'll do :
Design, write, test, implement, and document solutions for assigned program modules
Collaborate with and provide technical advice to Product Owners, Business Analysts, and lines of business to estimate level-of-effort, timing, and feasibility, to design new systems based on business requirements, and to optimize system and program functionality
Review coding for a group of software engineers to ensure alignment with business needs, change control procedures, and Frost development standards
Provide technical advice to project teams and mentor junior software engineers as necessary
Always take action using Integrity, Caring, and Excellence to achieve all-win outcomes
What you'll need: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, in a related field, or equivalent experience
Demonstrated ability to independently identify issues across interrelated programs and systems and develop the appropriate solutions, typically requiring a minimum of 4 years of experience
Strong understanding of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures associated with programming
Experience in developing integration, middleware, SOAP and RESTful services, and/or APIs
Proficient in Java and databases like Oracle, Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra
2 years of experience in microservices development using Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Quarkus or similar platforms
Demonstrated experience of the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including coding standards, code review, source control, build, test, deploy, and support
Hands on experience in implementing and integrating with identity protocols such as OpenId Connect, OAuth, or SAML
Experienced in working with Payments platform and understanding of the various payment schemes/formats
Must be a self-learner with the ability to pick up and leverage new payment technologies
Experience with Agile methodologies including Scrum/Kanban and tools like Jira
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Additional Preferred Skills: Experience in working with enterprise payment systems such as TCH/RTP, FedNow, Zelle, ACH, Checks, Bill Pay, Wires and ongoing initiatives for SWIFT ISO 20022 compliance
Ability to design and implement container-based APIs using container frameworks like OpenShift, Docker, or Kubernetes
Knowledge on CI/CD pipelines using Git, Jenkins, helm charts, Tekton, Argo CD, etc.
Experience with DevOps tools like Splunk and resiliency frameworks
Working experience with event driven/messaging frameworks such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or IBM MQ
Experience in the Financial Services industry
