Barbaricum is seeking a Data Scientist to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center-Philadelphia Division with the analysis of HM&E machinery and ship control systems for sensor and control data on surface ship classes. Support includes performing analytical and algorithm software; engineering, technical, logistics, and program support for the development, prototyping, implementation and in-service support of Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) data analysis.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a set of techniques or analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software
Apply data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets
Visualize, interpret, and report data findings
Create dynamic data reports
Qualifications Active DoD Secret security clearance
Bachelor's Degree in a statistical, mathematical, computer science, or engineering discipline
Five (5) years of experience in identifying trends and problems through complex big data analysis, leading efforts to combine analysis from multiple data sources using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining independently
Experience architecting scalable process solutions prepared with big data, data driven Machine Learning tools such as TensorFlow, scikit-learn, Pandas, and NumPy, Natural Language Processing, and implementing data models and developing data sources to support organizational solutions
Working knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of naval shipboard Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical systems preferred
