Job Description Job Description The Process Engineer is responsible for driving efficiency and effectiveness of all manufacturing equipment and processes. The objective is to insure consistent repeatable processes that will result in a high quality and cost effect product. The Process Engineer will utilize various methods to collect, report and analyze data to identify areas of opportunity.
This person will support the Process Engineering Supervisor in evaluating and recommending new equipment and process improvement. The role will also support other departments and Customer's related to design, tools and process improvements.
The position requires interaction with production teammates across the department. It requires the ability to effectively communicate and work with others to implement continuous improvement objectives.
Zentech is a growing EMS company, both organically and through acquisition. The Bloomington facility has a lot of capacity for growth. It will be important to refine/implement processes and controls to support that growth.
Responsibilities and Duties
Provides technical assistance to operators along with others in the manufacturing and engineering departments, related to the refinement and control of processes.
Determine root cause of failures using statistical methods and recommending changes in designs, tolerances or process methods.
Interface between production and quality to establish a robust and defect free production process, tooling and equipment.
Use lean principles to analyze and improve material flow and plan layouts to optimize production efficiency, safety, quality, cost and remove waste throughout the process.
Provide technical and analytical support for all customers (internally and externally) and suppliers associated with product and process.
Utilize problem solving techniques such as 8D and A3 to document and resolve quality issues
Procurement and implementation of fixtures, die-sets for lead prepping and other processes
Any other duties identified by Supervisor
Qualifications
3 years previous electronic manufacturing experience
Thorough knowledge of validation principles, manufacturing processes, quality systems and engineering design fundamentals
Experience with PCB, SMT, PTH, Inspection and Test equipment/processes is a plus
Computer experience especially proficiency in Excel
Mechanically inclined
Fluent in electronic assembly documentation/schematics
Solid analytical skills and ability to translate data into fact-based decision making to support strategic planning and program implementation
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to set clear priorities in a fast-paced environment
Hands on work only at desk 30% of your day

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust.
