The CPD has created a next-generation protein degrader and molecular glue platform to advance novel therapeutic modalities. The Center for Protein Degradation (CPD) is seeking a biologist/biochemist to join the Biochemistry and Structural Biology team. The individual will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to identify and characterize novel molecular glues and degraders.

Responsibilities

* Conduct standardized biological or biochemical assays and laboratory analyses, eg. TR-FRET, FP, western blot, cell-based assays

* Maintains cell culture and optimizes protein purifications using various expression systems such as coli, insect and mammalian systems

* Compiles and analyzes experimental data and interprets results to write summaries of findings for presentation of results to staff

* Uses computers, computer-interfaced equipment, robotics or high-technology applications to perform work duties

* Responsible for maintaining detailed notebook of all work-related activities.

Research Associate I - No supervisory responsibilities.

Specialized Responsibilities, by Scientific Area:

Biochemistry: Conduct standard biological or biochemical assays and laboratory analyses, e.g., TR-FRET, FP, AlphaScreen, ELISA, and cell-based assays, etc. Purify and prepare proteins for the in-vitro assays.

Biology: Conduct cellular, ex vivo, and/or in vivo experiments. Conduct standard biological and laboratory analyses and assays, e.g., pharmacodynamic, etc.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree (required), with a major in biochemistry, biology or related field

* At least 1 year lab experience post-Bachelor's

* Knowledge of state-of-the-art information and techniques related to either biochemistry or cancer biology

* Experience with ELISA, qPCR and molecular biology techniques preferred.

* Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and be able to keep accurate experimental records

* Ability to analyze information and use logic to address work-related issues and problems

* Must have close attention to detail and good time management

* Ability to work within a team environment
