We are currently recruiting for a Senior Data Analyst with insurance industry experience to join a growing data team in Atlanta, GA (Hybrid schedule – Dunwoody / Sandy Springs area). The Senior Data Analyst will help leverage data as a strategic asset to commercial business insurance products. For this role all candidates must have a strong background in value-driven data development and usage utilizing data analytics and intelligence technologies. The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data products and solutions that support business intelligence, analytics, and reporting needs with the aim of making data available and intelligible for all users. You will also collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, data engineers, and analysts to understand data requirements, define data models, ensure data quality and consistency, and take ownership of the effective use of analytics and intelligence data by business professionals and stakeholders. 120K – 140K Base + Bonus + Benefits Package
Responsibilities:
Partner with stakeholders to understand business requirements and derive technical requirements to support development, documentation, and implementation of the data solution design
Perform effective problem solving with business experts, management, and team members to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution
Work with the leadership team, stakeholders, and product owner to plan for new projects (solution design, infrastructure planning, estimation)
Create and maintain data models, including self-service capabilities, that align with business objectives and data as a product vision, making definitions and usability clear and accessible by users
Perform data analysis and validation to ensure data accuracy and integrity
Establish, maintain, and promote consistent development methodology
Contribute to design sessions and conduct code and/or release reviews
Codify knowledge and expand the knowledge repository within the team
Coach, mentor and reinforce the team in the operating model and data domain
Conduct quality control and record-keeping procedures to ensure the highest levels of data integrity
Identify areas to simplify, reuse code and fix technical debts (performance tuning)
Manage technical challenges during execution and communicate any risks or issues to management
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
5+ years of work experience in data warehousing, data modeling, and/or data engineering
Deep knowledge and experience in data management, integration, and analytics architecture
Strong Insurance domain skills with experience in problem solving and demonstrated ability to implement and deliver industry specific solutions
Strong knowledge of data warehousing and data lakehouse concepts, architectures, and methodologies
Proficient in data modeling tools and techniques
Experience with data as a product and business intelligence concepts, such as data governance, data quality, data lineage, data catalog, data visualization, and data storytelling
Expertise in self-service analytics and visualization capabilities utilizing tools such as Power BI
Working knowledge of data integration tools and frameworks, such as ETL, ELT, API, or streaming
Familiarity with data structures and formats, such as relational, non-relational, JSON, XML, etc.
Effective written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
Experience with Agile frameworks and methodologies is highly desirable
