Position Title: Senior Software Engineer
Department: Information Services
Reports to: Manager, Application Development and Support
Location: Atlanta, GA (*On-Site)
* Incumbent must work in office in Atlanta three days per week and may work remotely two days per week with manager approval
Summary: This position participates in the full life cycle of development of desktop, server, web, and mobile applications including design, development, testing, upgrade, installation, and implementation. Designs, codes, tests, and supports various business applications (both packaged and custom). Works in a constructive and determined manner to execute the strategies and goals determined by management.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Provides creative and efficient software solutions from moderate to complex business and/or technical problems with minimal supervision.
With some guidance, offers creative and educated proposals for new projects and improvement of existing applications.
Develops an understanding on how all components of the company’s technology infrastructure interact.
Assists in all aspects of application development and deployment, including but not limited to application programming, database design, migration, server configuration, testing, documentation, research and maintenance.
Designs, codes, tests, and implements software enhancements that adhere to departmental standards of code quality, performance, security, testing and interface design.
Works to enhance understanding of client’s business processes and rules by participating in an open and constructive manner during all customer and staff interactions.
Creates and reviews technical documentation.
Provides input into story sizing, backlog grooming, and release planning.
Performs trouble-shooting efforts and investigations when necessary.
Provides ongoing support and maintenance of deployed products.
Proactively views articles, tutorials, and videos to learn about new technologies and best practices for software development.
Manages own workload under minimal supervision.
Resolves problems with minimal supervision and assistance.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
BS or BA (preferably in Business or Information Systems) or related relevant work experience.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
Good communication skills are required.
Must be able to work well in team environment with occasional team lead responsibilities.
At least 5 years of experience with a combination of the following technologies: .Net Core utilizing the C# language
Asp.Net WebForms and MVC
AngularJS and Angular
HTML, JavaScript and CSS
SQL Server database design and programming (T-SQL)
