Job Description

Nevada State University actively maintains an open pool of qualified individuals to be selected on an as-needed basis by the department to fulfill part-time temporary instructional needs and applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Nevada State invites applications for an open pool of adjunct faculty for in-person/hybrid or online courses in Counseling. The department has greatest need for in-person/hybrid instructors and online instructors who use recorded lectures to deliver course content.

Applications will be considered on an as-needed basis determined by course availability.

Adjunct faculty members are compensated at the rate of $1,000 per credit hour. Courses are 3 credits.

Required Qualifications: Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or closely-related field.

Evidence of active learning and inclusive teaching practices (used in all instructional modalities) that support success of students with diverse backgrounds.

Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).

Preferred Qualifications: Previous teaching experience.

If applying to teach online asynchronous courses, evidence of engaging content delivery that goes beyond reading textbook chapters (e.g., recorded lectures or videos; application assignments).
