Corporate Counsel

Position Overview: The Corporate Counsel will provide legal support for the company and its divisions in areas such as corporate governance, commercial transactions, contracts, employment law, and litigation, among others. The Corporate Counsel will report to the General Counsel and provide strategic legal advice to support the company's business objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Review, negotiate, and manage corporate contracts
Draft legal documents
Conduct M&A legal activity
Review new business relationships with vendors and subcontractors
Assist HR in employment law matters
Guide managers on regulatory and compliance matters and assist with required governmental filings
Administer training workshops
Represent the corporation before administrative boards and court trials including collection activity
Provide supervision to outside lawyers hired to assist the corporation with their specialized legal services
Skills and Qualifications:
Ability to view the law from a business perspective.
Excellent verbal and written, communication skills.
Knowledge of federal and state business laws and regulations.
Strong administrative, research, and negotiation skills.
Ability to think analytically.
Ability to work well with internal clients and key stakeholders.
Education and Experience:
Juris Doctorate (required)
Licensed to practice law in Indiana (required)
At least three years as a practicing attorney (required)
Experience and knowledge of regulatory requirements in business, agriculture, and/or energy (preferred)
Experience in analysis, review, and drafting of complex vendor contracts (preferred)
