What you'll do

As a Principal Engineer focused on Identity, you will be responsible for driving the architecture and implementation of platform systems related to authentication, authorization, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and in product customer identification.

The individual must have a proven track record in building and delivering identity platforms that are functional, secure, scalable, and reliable. As a member of a small team in a fast-paced environment, this role will require both strong intellectual agility and hands-on technical skill. Strong coding is a must for this role. This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Sr. Director, Identity.

Responsibility

Lead the design and implementation of identity and access management solutions for customer-facing products, ensuring seamless authentication and authorization experiences for users

Collaborate with product teams to integrate identity solutions into new and existing customer-facing applications, ensuring alignment with product requirements and user experience goals

Design and implement robust AuthN and AuthZ mechanisms, to enhance security and usability

Oversee the management of user identity data, while ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and best practices

Troubleshoot complex issues, provide technical guidance and act as Subject Matter Expert

Participate in or lead troubleshooting and incident resolution of complex high severity incident

Develop detailed architecture, standards, design, and implementation documentation

Partner with platform teams and peer Principal Engineers to define the future of Identity

Plan and manage project tasks, schedules, and resources related to identity solution rollouts

Work with the team on the development and upkeep of quality documentation relating to identity platform deployments and operations

Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic

15+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or Architect focused in the authentication or authorization space

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Informatics or equivalent experience

Experience with designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise identity technologies such as OAuth 2.0, OpenId Connect, SCIM, FIDO, SAML2, and Zanzibar

Experience with Distributed Systems Design and experience building Identity platforms from ground up

Experience in Cloud Identity Solutions, such as Azure

Experience in security and implementation of best practices such as least privilege, privileged access management, passwordless authentication, etc

Experience with AWS, Azure IAM, Auth N and Auth Z

Experience working on distributed system

Preferred

In-depth knowledge of Authentication, Authorization, and Auditing as they relate to Identity and Access Management

Wage Transparency

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

California: $195,500.00 - $315,775.00 base salary

Illinois and Colorado: $186,200.00 - $263,000.00 base salary

Washington and New York (including NYC metro area): $186,200.00 - $276,125.00 base salary

This role is also eligible for bonus, equity and benefits .
