Description: The James Collective is a bicoastal, boutique PR and integrated communications firm that specializes in the CPG food and beverage, travel, and design industries, representing some of the best legacy and start-up businesses in those spaces. We have teams in NYC and in the Bay Area/wine country, and are looking for an Account Manager or Director to join our consistently growing company.

Key responsibilities for our account directors include:
- Client strategic success : You develop and lead PR and communication campaign strategies on behalf of clients that meet or exceed goals. As a result, the client portfolio that you lead maintains their relationship with our agency as we grow together
- Team management and growth : You effectively lead client teams that operate efficiently and successfully, and grow the team members internally to take on more responsibility and operate more independently. You ensure that you raise issues and solve problems/offer solutions with team members’ or employee work issues before they impact the team as a whole.
- Effective agency resource management : You manage your teams and scopes of work efficiently.
- Strong industry network built and contribution to agency success : You grow your network in a meaningful way, developing real relationships with other industry professionals, potential new business, brand partners, influencers, and media relationships. Your relationships deliver results both for your clients and the agency.
Requirements: - 6-9 years post-college experience in PR and marketing; knowledge and experience in the food + wine, hospitality and lifestyle industries a must
- A robust and strategic understanding of public relations, partnerships, content development and marketing communications, their tools; as well as relevant industry contacts
- Skilled at leading clients, working with new business prospects and connecting/maintaining meaningful relationships with media and influencers
- Results-oriented and problem-solving, ‘get the job done’ attitude
- Outgoing and adaptable personality with a solid independent work ethic
- Ability to think both strategically and creatively
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Professional demeanor and a desire to both lead and collaborate
- Voracious appetite for the industries in which we work, media and trend monitoring
- An entrepreneurial spirit that isn’t afraid to take risks and ‘figure things out’
- Proven track record of creating integrated communications programs and meeting measurable goals, while using digital measurement tools, including coverage book, meltwater, muckrack, and Microsoft Office/PDF
- Desire to work in a boutique agency environment, pursue personal interests and learnings that are in line with company goals and make your mark on a growing agency (and of course, have fun in the process!)
- An inherent want to lead in the Bay Area and nationally with kindness, a sense of humor, and curiosity
