Job Summary Serve as the driving force behind GuideStone's data governance initiatives, ensuring the strategic alignment of data management practices with organizational objectives and fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making excellence.
What You'll Do Develop and maintain data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure data integrity and compliance.
Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to implement data standards, data management practices, and data stewardship.
Monitor data management practices to ensure adherence to established policies and standards.
Facilitate data governance meetings and training sessions to educate employees on data governance practices.
Assist in the resolution of data quality issues and the implementation of corrective measures.
Manage metadata, including creation, updates, and deletion, to support organizational needs.
Participate in the creation and maintenance of data dictionaries and other data classification systems.
Work with legal and compliance teams to ensure data practices align with GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant data protection regulations.
Generate reports and presentations for senior management detailing the status of data governance initiatives.
Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulations regarding data governance and data management.
Collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, technology teams, and cross-functional units to understand data requirements and challenges comprehensively, ensuring a unified understanding across all parties.
Lead enterprise-wide data management maturity assessments to define status, future aspirations, and the guiding principles for data governance initiatives.
Develop a comprehensive enterprise data operating model covering people, processes, technology, and governance structures to achieve holistic data management excellence.
Align client business objectives with technological priorities, facilitating seamless integration and execution of data governance initiatives at GuideStone.
Drive the creation of thought leadership assets, communicating innovative insights, knowledge, and strategic recommendations in specific data strategy domains.
What You'll Need Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Combination of 10+ years of relevant, progressive work experience and education highly preferred.
Proven ability to lead cross functional teams toward corporate objectives.
Excellent communicator, presenter, and team leader.
Strong technical acumen of data warehouse, data lake and data architecture and data engineering systems and processes.
Must maintain complete confidentiality regarding GuideStone business matters.
Proficient skills in MS Office and appropriate GuideStone system applications.
