Senior Product Designer

Fellow is looking for an experienced product designer to lead user interface development for our hardware electrics and mobile apps from concept to launch. They will work in close tandem with our product management and engineering teams to concept, prototype, present, and iterate designs alongside a group of designers, engineers, and executives.

This position is required to be in the Bay Area as this is a hybrid position, 3 days in office.

Responsibilities

Manage overall UX/UI implementation, ensuring consistency across all product lines and mobile apps

Design flows and experiences that simplify and distill down complex actions into usable interfaces

Iterate and communicate design ideas across various levels of fidelity — from concept to prototype to design to design system

Create and maintain detailed documentation for design, user stories, use cases, and logic flows

Prepare the highest quality assets and ensure that they meet accessibility standards

Partner effectively with cross-functional leaders—including Category Management, Customer Experience, Marketing, Engineering, and third-party vendors

Be a voice of the customer, advocating for the user and centering them throughout our product development process

Develop a strong grasp of the competitive landscape including specialty coffee, connected devices, and companion app trends

Willingness to represent work to a broader product team and other leaders, clearly and succinctly articulating the goals and concepts

Proactively identify areas for improvement for designs in existing product lines

Core Qualifications

4+ years of design experience in designing consumer software or hardware products preferred, preferably both

Ability to quickly prototype high-fidelity experiences and put them to the test with users in order to facilitate product decisions

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in design, human-computer interaction, or equivalent

You're an expert with a deep toolbox of tools. You can handle your own whether it’s crafting a design system in Figma, building an interactive prototype in Origami or Protopie, or jumping between apps in the Adobe Suite to nail down the perfect motion sample

A passion for physical and digital products - not just the way they work but how they feel to the end-user. Deep understanding of customer journeys with a proven ability to transform customer needs into actionable solutions and requirements

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create compelling strategies and present complex information clearly and concisely to help others understand the “What, Why, and How” of a design

High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously with minimal supervision in ambiguous environments

Passionate about translating needs between a wide audience of stakeholders and developing strong partnerships with partners, tech team, and operating at leadership levels
