Job Summary:

Camillo, a growing residential home builder, is seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Data Engineer to join our small but growing data and analytics team. As a key member of the team, you will play a pivotal role in building and scaling our data infrastructure, ensuring data quality, and strengthening the data value chain to drive insights that support strategic decision-making. This role requires a well-rounded skillset and knowledge of data engineering, architecture, and governance.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure using cloud-based technologies.

Implement and enforce data quality standards to ensure data accuracy and consistency.

Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into actionable data solutions.

Develop and document technical specifications for data models and ETL/ELT processes.

Manage and maintain cloud-based data platforms and tools.

Foster a data-driven culture by providing training and guidance to other team members.

Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering.

Participate in the recruitment and development of the data and analytics team.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Friendly and welcoming demeanor with the ability to maintain professionalism and a strong customer-focused demeanor with demanding clientele.

Excellent time management skills, detail-orientation and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.

Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, along with advanced conflict resolution skills.

Technical Expertise:

Proven experience as a data engineer: Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure using modern data technologies.

Expert in SQL and data warehousing: Deep understanding of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and data warehousing solutions for efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis.

Cloud proficiency: Experience with major cloud platforms (Azure, GCP) for deploying and managing data infrastructure.

Scripting proficiency: Familiarity with scripting languages for automating data processing tasks.

Data Management and Governance:

Strong understanding of data quality principles: Ability to implement and enforce data quality standards, including data cleansing, validation, and monitoring.

Data modeling expertise: Experience in designing and documenting data models that effectively capture and represent business information.

Knowledge of data governance frameworks: Familiarity with data governance principles and best practices to ensure data security, privacy, and compliance.

Leadership and Mentorship:

Proven experience in providing guidance, coaching, and technical support to junior team members.

Strong communication and collaboration skills: Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Problem-solving and critical thinking: Adept at identifying and resolving data-related challenges and developing innovative solutions.

Adaptability and willingness to learn: Eager to stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in the data engineering field./

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a data engineering role, with at least 2 years of experience in a senior role.

Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.

Understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms is beneficial.
