**Description**

As a Warehouse Manager, you play the crucial role of overseeing the warehouse operations related to the receiving, storage, order fulfillment, inventory accuracy and shipment of product to OGC accounts. Your ability to provide strong leadership in this role will contribute to the overall success of our company and produce trade.

**Heres what youll do:**
* Perform all supervisory responsibilities for assigned team members, including but not limited to scheduling, assigning work, hiring, training and development, and addressing/documenting performance or disciplinary issues.
* Coach, develop and set goals for their team members in alignment with OGCs Five Organizational Values.
* Responsible for proper reporting of all accidents, and for ensuring all staff receive necessary safety training.
* Provide tactical leadership for the Warehouse departments to support and fulfill OGC strategic initiatives. Set departmental objectives and goals to align with organizational goals and initiatives.
* Participate in organizational strategic projects and initiatives. May include leading projects in alignment with OGCs Project Management guidelines.
* Oversee management of the Warehouse teams to ensure accuracy, exceptional quality, and efficient operations as needed based on department goals and expectations.
* Create and communicate departmental metrics and KPIs to ensure the team is performing as expected.
* Represent the warehouse operations cross-functionally in organizational meetings. Ensure the work of the teams is understood and visible to other departmental leaders to identify opportunities for partnership and process improvement.
* Create and refine the Warehouse department budgets and ensure we are meeting, or exceeding our productivity and departmental spending.
* Responsible for meeting department goals for safety, efficiency, accuracy, customer service, and third party audit requirements.
* Support the compliance department in food safety initiatives and actively look for opportunities to improve.
* Act as a thought leader in, and an advocate for, the organic produce industry, leading OGCs professional image through extensive industry knowledge, high integrity relationships and grower partnerships.
* Lead and facilitate Continuous Improvement (CI) processes for department as identified to resolve problems and improve product and service quality.
* Maintain good manufacturing practices (GMP) and global food safety initiative (GFSI) standards.
**Qualified candidates will have:**
* Bachelors degree preferred, plus a minimum of 3-5 years job experience in perishable warehousing and increasing responsibilities in leadership roles in either distribution or manufacturing. Other relevant experience will also be considered.
* 3+ years experience managing a group facility over 80 personnel.
* Previous experience with creation and implementation of continuous improvement projects required.
* Previous Experience in 5S Methodology for Lean Warehouse Management preferred.
* Understanding of product line, post-harvest handling, quality, grading, shrink, food safety, organic certification, sustainability, the seasonal dynamics of production and availability, USDA regulations, vendors, retail, competitive landscape.
* Knowledge of USDA training and standards. Ability to facilitate USDA inspection processes and standards.
* Experience using enterprise resource planning software as well as warehouse management systems and the ability to train others on the OGCs computer software programs.
* Intermediate skills in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
* Experience with maintaining GFSI compliance requirements.
* Ability to effectively lead a team and engage team members in overall departments objectives.
* Ability to lead and execute on projects using proven project management tools and resources.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.

**Physical Requirements:**
This position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular and consistent basis. Must be able to work in a cold and damp environment for extended periods of time. Work environment may include exposure to: dust, ice, dirt, noise, and vibration. In addition, repetitive motion, mainly of the shoulder, back, wrist and hands, may be required in this position. Standing, stooping, bending required. Ability to meet above description of position with or without reasonable accommodation.
