Compliance Specialist

Responsible for monitoring participant compliance with all policies, procedures, and requirements set out in the Behavioral Health Court program. Must maintain courteous and cooperative working relationships with administrative and other County personnel, public agencies, and the general public, and work under the guidance of Local/State/Federal regulations and County policies/procedures.
Any current Kittitas County employee who is a member of Local 792CH (Courthouse) who meets the qualifications stated in the job description is encouraged to apply. Monitor Behavioral Health Court participant compliance with program guidelines, individual requirements, and case conditions.
Assist participants in understanding unique requirements and/or case conditions; encourage and promote compliance with all program requirements.
Hold participants accountable to court orders and enforce program rules.
Meet with and conduct regularly scheduled participant interviews.
Assist participants with challenges that affect individual case plans, including, but not limited to vocational, educational, or employment planning.
Coordinate drug and alcohol testing for participants as required.
Schedule court hearings as needed.
Coordinate with the Prosecutors Office to prepare court paperwork.
Compile, analyze, and maintain complete, accurate, and timely records of contact and information obtained relative to each participant.
Prepare and present written and oral reports regarding participant progress and compliance.
Provide information on pre-trial and post-trial monitoring such as ignition interlock, transdermal alcohol monitoring, electronic home detention and global position monitoring.
Work closely with treatment agencies to monitor participant progress and compliance.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with those working for mental health, chemical dependency, and other probation/monitoring agencies.
File, document, and track participant information in all relevant systems.
Research and pursue available grants under the direction of the District Judicial Administrator.
Recommend program policy and procedure updates; assist in drafting policy and procedure changes as required.
Monitor budget performance related to the Behavioral Health Court program and make budget-related recommendations as needed.
Perform outreach work in the community to promote the Behavioral Health Court program.
OTHER FUNCTIONS Attend departmental meetings to stay informed on policies, procedures, and overall program progress.
Performs the functions of a Legal Process Assistant as needed in the event of unexpected staff shortages.
Represent Kittitas County on various boards, commissions, or committees as required.

Four (4) or more years of experience in a court setting, social work, probation, or counseling.
Valid WA State drivers license.
A criminal history and background check will be performed on qualified applicants. Convictions may preclude candidates from employment in certain circumstances. Factors such as relativity to the position, age and time of the offense, seriousness and nature of the violation, and rehabilitation will be taken into account.
