About the Job

We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Director of Engineering to lead our talented engineering team at CardioOne. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of healthcare technology, a passion for innovation, and a proven track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams. This position will build the engineering team from the ground up and will include all aspects of technology build including Infrastructure/Hosting, Security/Compliance, Product/Tool integrations, Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence and supporting existing vendor product stack, etc. You will report directly to the Chief Product Officer and work remotely.

What you'll do:

Provide strategic leadership for the healthcare engineering team, setting the technical vision and direction for the development of healthcare IT solutions to address evolving customer needs

Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in the healthcare industry, assessing their potential impact on the organization.

Set the technical vision and lead technical decisions for your team to ensure the team writes simple, clean, and efficient code to create intuitive, beautiful products.

Bring clarity when faced with ambiguity; motivate and guide the team through complex problem solving.

Collaborate closely with product management, design, and other cross-functional teams to prioritize and deliver product features and enhancements that meet the evolving needs of our customers and partners.

Drive recruitment efforts to attract top-tier engineering talent with a focus on diversity and inclusion

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering team, promoting best practices, knowledge sharing, and professional development.

Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products and solutions while adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Manage and evolve the technology stack used in healthcare IT solutions, making strategic decisions about platforms, frameworks, and tools.

Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of healthcare systems.

Establish and maintain robust quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability and accuracy of healthcare technology solutions.

Implement testing methodologies and standards to meet regulatory compliance requirements.

Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with healthcare IT projects. Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure healthcare systems adhere to industry standards and regulations.

Develop and manage budgets related to healthcare engineering projects. Optimize resource allocation to meet project deadlines and organizational goals.

What you'll need:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science, Business Administration)

10-12 years of demonstrated experience in managing and leading high-performance engineering teams

Extensive experience in healthcare IT, with a proven track record in full stack technical leadership roles in taking products to market

Experience in full stack development (MS SQL, .NET, ReactJS, PowerBI, and Snowflake)

Strong understanding of healthcare systems, interoperability, and data security.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of agile development methodologies and project management practices.

Additional Information
