Job Overview:
The Principal Contract Management Spec is responsible for interpreting internal or external business issues and recommending best practices. They will be tasked with solving complex Contract Management-related problems and will work independently with minimal guidance. The Principal Contract Management Spec may be responsible for leading functional teams or projects and is regarded as a specialist in Contract Management As such, they must have in-depth expertise in Contract & Project Strategy as well as broad knowledge of the Contract & Project Strategy discipline within the Project Controls function.
Responsibilities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Manage client relationships on prime contract issues
Flow downs from the prime contract to subcontracts and purchase orders
Client correspondence, including both technical and commercial issues
Manage change, including change orders rights, and obligations
Insurance and insurance claims management
Permit requirements, both in obtaining and ensuring compliance, including local, state and Federal requirements, and Letter of credit requirements
Risk management, including risks registers and warranty obligations
Report to both the project directorate and any joint venture/consortium partners on both technical and commercial issues
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field
3-5 years of experience in contract management field experience
Working experience preferably in Offshore, Subsea, or Onshore Oil and Gas related projects
Joint Venture or consortium project execution
Direct reporting to a project director or executive level
Contractual and commercial knowledge to ensure project compliance
