Senior Regulatory Healthcare Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a highly skilled Senior Regulatory Healthcare Attorney to join its San Diego, CA team. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with attorneys and clients, offering crucial guidance on navigating regulatory requirements in the healthcare sector. This role presents an opportunity to advise dynamic healthcare clients across various phases of their businesses, focusing primarily on regulatory compliance, government investigations, litigation, and strategic transactions.
Duties:
Provide expert guidance on regulatory matters in the healthcare sector, emphasizing compliance with key regulations such as the Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, Medicare conditions of participation, and state-specific regulations.
Offer counsel on HIPAA, healthcare privacy, data breach incidents, Knox-Keene Act, digital health, telehealth, healthcare technology transactions, ACOs (Accountable Care Organizations), and/or Medicare Direct Contracting Enterprise (DCD) program, as applicable.
Conduct thorough research and analysis to support legal strategies and recommendations.
Collaborate with internal teams and clients to develop comprehensive solutions tailored to regulatory challenges.
Take ownership of projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and addressing inquiries promptly.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Law from an accredited institution.
Admission to the California State Bar is mandatory.
5-7 years of experience specializing in regulatory matters within the healthcare sector.
Familiarity with healthcare regulations and industry standards.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Excellent research and analytical abilities.
Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in healthcare technology transactions, ACOs, or Medicare Direct Contracting Enterprise (DCD) program is advantageous.
Knowledge of state-specific fee-splitting, self-referral, and corporate practice of medicine restrictions is a plus.
Education and Certifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
Active membership in the California State Bar.
