The Vice President, Operations is a senior executive responsible for overseeing manufacturing function, and connecting the manufacturing, supply chain, commercial, and facilities functions within an organization. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and overall success of the company's operations.
Responsivities:
Manufacturing and General Management:
Execute company’s critical and strategic missions across multifunctional teams including but not limited to manufacturing, supply chain, facility expansion and etc.
Manage a production team as plant manager to oversee the business and operations of a pilot factory with a team of manufacturing operations, with close collaboration with engineering, product, supply chain, facilities, EHS and commercial team.
Oversee all manufacturing operations, ensuring production schedules are met and quality standards are maintained.
Build and refine a robust lean manufacturing system and ensure consistent execution.
Lead critical initiatives such cost reduction for manufacturing and business operations etc.
Collaborate with Factorial’s leadership team to identify, develop, and implement high-impact business process improvements.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess production performance and take corrective actions as necessary.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with other departments, including supply chain, facilities, finance, sales, and marketing, to ensure alignment of operations with overall business objectives.
Participate in strategic decision-making processes, providing insights and recommendations based on operational expertise.
Support the development and execution of new product introduction, customer projects, or business expansion initiatives.
Qualification:
Bachelor's degree required.
Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in operations management, manufacturing, or related roles required.
Experience as a general manager capacity in a startup environment required.
Prior entrepreneurial experience is required
Experience working as general manager / founder in an agile environment highly required
Prior experience in the manufacturing industry required
Project management experience strongly preferred
Cost conscious and resourceful, with an ownership mindset
Experience in one or more of the follow industries preferred: battery cell (preferred), semiconductor (preferred), automotive (preferred), material, chemical, biotech, food industries, electronics, or other manufacturing related sector
Experience with Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement methodologies, or other process optimization frameworks is a plus.
