General Summary:
The Regional Director of Operations in a charter school is responsible for overseeing the administrative and operational aspects of multiple school locations within a designated region. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth functioning of the schools, compliance with regulations, and efficient use of resources.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. **Leadership and Supervision:**- Provide leadership and guidance to school administrators, operational staff, and support teams within the region.- Supervise and evaluate the performance of school principals and administrative staff.
2. **Compliance and Regulations:**- Ensure that all schools within the region adhere to state and federal regulations, charter agreements, and local educational policies.- Implement and enforce policies and procedures related to school operations, safety, and compliance.
3. **Financial Management:**- Develop, monitor, and manage the budgets of schools in the region.- Oversee financial planning, accounting, and reporting processes.- Work to optimize resource allocation and cost-efficiency.
4. **Facilities and Logistics:**- Oversee facilities management, maintenance, and improvement projects.- Manage transportation, food services, and other logistical aspects of school operations.
5. **Human Resources:**- Ensure that schools are adequately staffed with qualified teachers and support staff.- Handle HR functions such as recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
6. **Data Analysis and Reporting:**- Analyze academic and operational data to identify areas for improvement.- Prepare reports for school boards, charter authorizers, and other stakeholders.
7. **Community Engagement:**- Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, students, community organizations, and local educational authorities.- Participate in community outreach and public relations efforts.
8. **Strategic Planning:**- Collaborate with school leadership and stakeholders to develop and execute strategic plans for educational and operational excellence.

Work as needed; this is a full-time, salaried position
1. A bachelor's degree in education, business administration, or a related field (a master's degree is often preferred).
2. Previous experience in educational administration, school leadership, or a similar role.
3. Strong knowledge of charter school regulations, education policy, and administrative best practices.
4. Exceptional leadership and management skills.
5. Financial acumen, budgeting experience, and familiarity with educational finance.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
8. Knowledge of data analysis and reporting tools.
9. Understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles in education.
10. Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of the charter school.
