Junior Cloud Engineer

Intro:
As a Junior Cloud Engineer, you will be an integral part of our cloud services team, responsible for assisting in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our Azure cloud-based architecture. You will work closely with other team members to support and deploy scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions.
What You'll Be Doing:
Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our PEMAE environment with a forward focus of incorporating new Azure offerings.
Assist with developing and maintaining ARM and DSC code for SharePoint 2019 infrastructure including Application, Web, Identity, and Active Directory servers.
Monitor cloud infrastructure performance, identify areas for optimization to improve utilization that assists with cost-efficiency.
Assist to architect, develop, and deploy cloud based IaC solutions.
Collaborate with members of our application and development team to utilize and implement strategies for new technologies such as Azure OpenAI.
Keep focus on security to implement and maintain cloud security best practices, ensuring compliance with DoD standards and regulations.
Assist with documenting cloud infrastructure configurations, procedures, and best practices while contributing to knowledge sharing initiatives.
Participate in troubleshooting efforts related to cloud infrastructure, including service interruptions/outages, network connectivity and performance issues.
Perform PEMAE systems checks to report morning and evening operational status.
Assist with briefings, documents, presentations, and responses to data calls, as needed.
Location and Travel Details:
This position is currently practicing a hybrid telework model, requiring onsite work 2-3 times per week depending on tasks and workload demands.
Profile of Success:
Secret clearance level or above
Azure infrastructure experience with networking, compute, storage, and security
Architecture design ability and experience
Azure Resource Manage (ARM) template development knowledge
Experience with Desired State Configuration (DSC)
Experience with automation to infrastructure Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Familiar with Microsoft server and client architecture
Self-directed, motivated, and positive attitude with solid written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks independently, with minimum supervision, while still meeting deadlines
Ensures necessary documentation is updated, accurate, and properly store
Communicates clearly, professionally, and effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members
Commitment to client service
Desirable Skills:
Azure Infrastructure (networking, compute, storage)
Network fundamentals with understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and load balancing
Experience troubleshooting network-related issues
Security fundamentals (System and Networking)
Azure Resource Manager (ARM) and/or BICEP
Identify Management and Federated Identity Services
SQL Server (Azure and Managed Instance)
Desired Stated Configuration (DSC)
PowerShell
Cloud based server and client architecture
