POSITION SUMMARY: The production technician will be responsible for efficiently operating specialty CNC manufacturing equipment in a production setting. The technician will be responsible for maintaining quality products and interacting with the operations and engineering teams to improve processes to maximize production volumes and minimize scrapped production due to in-process defects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct setups and load materials in order to perform production operations

Monitor production processes and adjust machine settings as needed to ensure consistent quality and efficient production rates

Conduct quality checks and inspections to ensure that products meet specifications, using measuring instruments and visual inspection techniques.

Record production data, such as quantities produced, materials used, and production times

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts

Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate protective equipment, including gloves, safety glasses, and respirators

Collaborate with other production staff to troubleshoot problems and improve production processes

Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions to ensure consistent and high-quality production

Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment

Assist with other production-related tasks as needed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in machining or manufacturing is preferred

Experience operating machinery in a manufacturing production setting

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

High attention to detail

Strong attention to detail and quality control skills

Keep work area clean and organized and maintain equipment in good working condition.

Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions to ensure consistent and high-quality production

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work flexible hours as needed to meet production schedules.

Must be willing to travel.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate complex concepts effectively with all levels of the organization in both verbal and written forms.

This role works with epoxies and resins in a day to day environment. anyone with a epoxy resin allergy is at risk in this environment. ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES ARE A PLUS:

Assembly/fabrication equipment operation (2+ years)

Industrial CNC equipment programming (2+ years)

Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and CNC (2+ years)

PLC and HMI diagnostic/repair experience (2+ years)

Six sigma/lean methodologies

Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Experience in fiberglass repair

CERTIFICATIONS/LISCENCES: Must obtain and maintain the applicable employee license with the Texas Railroad Commission; must pass test within 45 days of hire. Must possess a current and valid driver license with a driving record that meets the insurability guidelines set forth by the company’s insurance carrier.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This role requires the operator to perform the following:

Stand for long periods of time.

Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and parts up to 50 lbs.

Perform repetitive motions with the hands/wrists/arms.

Bending, twisting, and reaching to access the materials and machine components.

Pushing or pulling heavy carts or dollies.

Occasional climbing, balancing, and stooping to perform maintenance or adjustments to equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This role will require willingness to work in an environment:

noisy and dusty environment

exposure to chemicals and other hazardous materials.

The work area may occur in non-air-conditioned facilities.
