Staff CI/CD Engineer, Core Infrastructure Adyen is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer specializing in CI/CD for our Core Infrastructure team in Chicago. In this role, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of a high-performance, highly secure platform that is instrumental to Adyen's growth.
Responsibilities Design, build, and operate our CI/CD systems and infrastructure in a complex, on-prem environment.
Drive projects from beginning to end while collaborating with your teammates to deliver robust solutions.
Contribute to our “CI/CD as a service” model, providing support and expertise to the entire organization.
Maintain large on-premise deployments of code and artifact storage solutions.
Who you are Currently working at Staff Engineer or equivalent level.
A self-starter who takes ownership of solutions from requirements analysis through design, implementation, testing and launch into production.
A learner with a drive to understand technologies at a deeper level.
An excellent communicator who encourages knowledge sharing and articulates complex technical concepts in front of different stakeholders.
You are flexible, a team player, and someone with an eye for detail.
Experienced in leading complex technical projects in a fast paced environment.
Work hands on and contribute to the implementation, but at the same time offer technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers.
You like to do things programmatically, by using Configuration Management and Infrastructure as Code tools (preferably Puppet, Ansible, and Terraform).
A CI/CD enthusiast who excels at creating automated processes and evangelizing their benefits to the rest of the organization.
Able to handle a 24/7 operational environment, making quick, informed decisions under pressure.
Technical Skills and Experience Required qualifications
10+ years of experience working in infrastructure.
Linux proficiency: An understanding of the operating system and its internals. Including systems administration and engineering such as load balancing, scaling, monitoring, kernel primitives, network setup and maintenance, network security protocols, TCP/IP networking, DNS, and distributed file systems. Experience creating and managing Linux packages.
Private cloud infrastructure, specifically in on-premises environments.
Automation: Configuration Management and Infrastructure as Code.
CI/CD: Creating and maintaining hosted CI/CD solutions and the underlying infrastructure. Proficient in git and branching strategies.
Artifact and code storage solutions (Harbor, Nexus, Maven, GitLab, etc).
Ability to code in at least one programming language and familiarity with bash scripting.
Preferred qualifications
Containerization: Creating and managing containers and experience using container orchestrators, ideally Kubernetes and/or Nomad.
Experience hosting large instances of Jenkins and GitLab CI.
Experience using Terraform, Puppet, and Ansible for automation.
