Metrology Research Engineer

Introduction to the job Will play a key role in modeling the optical metrology tool and developing the new algorithms for signal & image analysis. Enable new application features to meet customers' requirements in the advanced nodes.
Role and responsibilities Create the physical model for optical metrology tools
Carry out the simulation using existing simulation engines
Develop the algorithms to extract metrology information from the signals & images, and the images can be acquired from the optical metrology tools or SEM (scanning electron microscopy) tools. The algorithms include machine-learning, signal processing, image processing, regression, optimization.
Design and carry out the research plan, present the research results and identify the improvement areas
Evaluate the performance of different algorithms based on the specified criteria

Education and experience Graduate degree (MSc. Or PhD) in physics, computer science, electrical engineering, material science, or equivalent experience.
3 or more year experience in data analysis, machine learning, signal processing, image processing.
Skills Proficiency in one of programming languages, such as Python, MATLAB, C/C++,
Knowledge in optical system working principle, and experience with Rigorous Optical Simulation is a plus (FDTD, RCWA)
Ability to complete assignments with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers
Soft skill requirements: strong English communication skills, both written and oral.
