Inventory Control Coord

General Summary of Position

Job Summary:

The Inventory Control Coordinator establishes , monitors and controls warehouse inventory levels. Interfaces with Information Systems and provides PC and ERP systems support for the department .Additionally, this position helps to support the nursing unit supply carts with utilization analytics, par level management and product/bin layout.

Primary Duties:

Establishes, monitors and controls all inventory levels and associated metrics which indirectly affect budgetary constraints.

Verifies stockouts, performs cycle counts to verify inventory quantities, and resolves discrepancies.

Maintains and performs item and par level changes as needed in all materials management systems and physical storage locations.

Trains associates on PC and ERP system applications, departmental inventory policies and procedures. Training and support activities will require the flexibility to occasionally work all shifts as needed.

Discusses and coordinates additions, changes and deletions to the patient charge master with Patient Billing and Information Systems.

Monitors inventory policies and procedures to ensure compliance . Recommends policy and process changes that will enhance inventory control accuracy and other associated corporate and departmental goals.

Provides computer/IS support to department users.

Establishes and maintains alternate sources of supply to ensure high levels of product availability and patient care by developing contacts and relationships with vendors, manufactures, other Medstar System entities and non-Medstar area hospitals.

Qualifications:

Associate's degree or one to three years formal training in Business, Accounting or related discipline required .

1-2 years of progressively more responsible job-related experience including computerized inventory systems required .
