Big-D Construction is looking for a General Superintendent to join the team located in Tempe, AZ .
Key responsibilities include:
Work with Project Executives and Director of Operationsto manage Superintendent and Foreman project staffing
Collaborate with the Business Unit Safety Director to enforce the BU Safety Program.
Support the Project Teamsthroughout the pre-construction phase in developing logisticsplans,schedules, and other key operational requirements
Providesupport to Business Development, Estimating, and the Project Teamsin creating operational plans for all pursuits.
Address subcontractor field issues affecting budget, quality, or schedule.
Distribute and harmonize all field trade tasks in accordance withvarying project requirements.
Assist the Superintendent throughout the project's lifespan.
Help develop schedule recovery plans with project’s that exceed key schedule variance metrics
Offer advice on the execution of the Project Quality Assurance/Quality Control program.
Oversee any Self-Perform activities
Recognize projects with opportunities for self-performance and aid in crafting the Self-Perform proposal.
Evaluate project timelines with Superintendents/Foreman, ensuring vital tasks and decision-making stay on track
Documentfield-related project concerns that may influence budget, quality, or schedule, and collaborate with theproject management teamto develop solutions
Requirements:
7-10 years or more of related experience working on commercial construction projects as a Superintendent
Local subcontractor market and industry experience
Possess strong computer skills; proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, Procore, P6
Ability to effectively lead and manage teams.
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with project team, customers, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and employees at all levels of the organization.
Extensive knowledge of established construction practices, procedures, and techniques as well as applicable local, state and federal building codes.
Ability to read and understand work orders, budget, change orders, safety standards, plans specifications, shop drawings, blue prints, submittals, manufacturer’s literature, contract documents and specifications, and CPM schedules.
Understand construction scheduling and sequencing
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in the workplace.
Thorough and attentive to details; extremely organized and able to prioritize and multitask.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
