Raba Kistner is seeking a detailed-oriented, dependable Project Engineer CoMET to join our Consultants team in the greater Austin, TX area. The Project Engineer’s primary responsibility is to act as Engineer on CoMET Projects.

Serve as CoMET Project Engineer, on Engineering and CoMET projects including project management from the beginning to the end of the project.

Complete projects and reports in a timely and accurate manner within the specified budget.

Provide mentorship and professional development to other professional, technical, clerical and support staff members.

Perform CoMET consulting activities as required on company projects, and working in unison with staff members in assigned and other offices.

Coordinate materials testing activities with subcontractors and Raba Kistner’s field and laboratory staff.

Prepare laboratory-testing assignments on projects in accordance with the testing program established in the proposal.

Analyze field data, laboratory test results; perform engineering calculations for completion of client reports.

Submit draft materials testing/geotechnical engineering reports for review and final reports for co-signature of assigned staff members.

Perform field observation services in support of the CoMET activities, as well as for forensic investigations.

Assist assigned office in expanding the scope and technological level of excellence currently provided in our engineering, environmental and construction materials services.

Provide a leadership role in expanding our professional practice into the Austin market. Work with the Direct Report and Corporate Development in coordinating the Austin office business development programs

Understand, adhere and participate in the Raba Kistner Health and Safety and Behavior Safety Programs and set a good safety example.

Review and approve pre-bill invoices on CoMET projects and others as required.

Contact and follow up with Clients on invoicing and status of payment.

Within the first six-month period, achieve average chargeability goal of not less than 60 percent.

Prepare proposals and Statements of Qualifications, and perform indirect marketing activities in dealings with Clients.

Actively participate in specific technical and/or professional organizations approved by Direct Report.

Assist in direct marketing as described in the Austin marketing plan.

Immediately notify Direct Report and Chairman of the Board of all potential disputes that may lead to legal claims or litigation.

As requested, support Chairman of the Board to settle disputes or defend against litigation.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) from an ABET accredited school and 5-8 years of relevant experience required. Must have a Professional Engineer’s (P.E.) License for the State of Texas or if licensed in another state have the ability to obtain Texas license within 3 months. Good oral and written communications skills and ability to work in teams at different levels within the organization. Intermediate in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Must be self-motivated with good attendance record and be able to work independently.
