Job Description Job Description Duties/Responsibilities:
Develops, recommends, and implements plans or strategies based on project requirements from Operations Groups, Technical Teams and other Business Units related to integrating various systems.
Provide technical expertise, problem analysis and oversight of systems development and implementation of newly developed, purchased, and enhanced control systems. This may include participation in the planning, design, construction, in-house training, and startup of new infrastructure with engineers, consultants, contractors, and vendors.
Manage or assist teams who conduct activities for the installation, testing, programming, deployment, maintenance, and system administration of Process Control Systems (SCADA and DCS), PLC based control systems, radio telemetry, communications networks, and process instrumentation.
Travel to multiple field site locations to manage and execute project or maintenance functions related to automation or control system integration in all stages i.e. design, purchase, installation, testing and deployment.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Five years of hands- on experience working with various process control devices related to the Production, Midstream, Downstream, and Refinery segments. Equivalent progressive experience in other industries will be considered.
Five years of progressive experience in SCADA, DCS and Process Instrumentation of a large industrial facility including significant experience as a project manager. Supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge of SCADA, DCS, and process instrumentation technologies, hardware, and software.
Experience reading and interpreting P&ID, flow control diagrams, Area Electrical Classification drawings, electrical one-line diagrams, and network drawings, and applying requirements for field and integration projects.
Ability to interpret and design control narratives and cause/effect diagrams and apply to the design and field implementation of control systems.
Experience in function testing instruments, control loops, shutdowns/SIS, and control logic
Ability to communicate clearly and produce written policies, guidelines, and procedures.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, staff, consultants, contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
