RAJA Medical, a manufacturer of leading-edge medical equipment for the professional aesthetic industry is seeking a detail-oriented hands-on Controller who would be responsible for the timely and accurate completion of all accounting and finance-related activities. This will be a full-time on-site position in Falls Church, Virginia. We are looking for someone who is ultimately responsible for and manages the entire accounting, tax, and compliance reporting function.
Maintains the company’s system of accounts and keeps the books and records on all company transactions, assets, and liabilities.
Ensures the accurate recording of all transactions to the general ledger accounts.
Responsible for the timely and accurate filing of semi-monthly payroll, monthly sales tax, annual business tax and tangible property tax returns.
Ensures compliance with all jurisdictions and investigates and resolves account discrepancies, audit findings, and issues of non-compliance.
Contributes to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
Manages and prepares reports, schedules and documentation for annual general liability and workman’s compensation audits.
Manages and oversees the administration of company’s health benefit programs.
Manages and oversees the company's HR function.
Prepares financial analyses and reports if/when needed.
Manages and prepares for audits.
Collaborates with external counterparts such as insurers, lawyers, and auditors.
Performs other accounting duties and supports junior staff as required.
Controller Requirements:
Master's degree in accounting required.
CPA preferred.
Extensive experience with Quickbooks.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
7+ years of accounting experience.
Knowledge of GAAP accounting rules.
Extensive understanding of Trial Balance Accounting and General Ledger Entries.
Extensive knowledge of required federal and state payroll reports.
Experience in filing state sales tax reports.
Experience with performing annual general liability and workman’s compensation audits.
Strong financial analysis skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to work with vast amounts of data.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Ability to train and manage staff.
Must be hands on and willing to perform all accounting tasks as needed.
Ability to work with no supervision.
Salary and Benefits
· This is a 100% on-site full-time position with benefits. The candidate will ultimately be taking over the entire accounting function from the Chief Financial Officer and responsible for building out the accounting department.
· Starting Salary: $100,000 to $120,000 / yr depending on experience and qualifications plus bonus.
· Benefits include Health, Dental and Vision insurance, paid vacation, sick days, and holidays.
