Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to manage a multi-program prevention unit for the Division of Behavioral Health Services of the Washington County Health Department. This position directs and coordinates an array of county-wide human services and related activities designed to serve county residents and increase the health of county residents by mobilizing multiple groups and organizations to change the social environment (including policies, legislation, enforcement, norms, public understanding and community practices). This position will provide appropriate direct services, solve problems at the community level, and address relevant community risk and protective factors on the basis of sound and current research. Preparation of grant proposals, close monitoring of prevention program budgets are integral components of this position.\r
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. \rExperience: Three years of professional experience in assisting in the coordination of a health-related program(s) or referring people to governmental and private resources. \rNotes: \r1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university on a year-for-year basis for the required experience. \r2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health-related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education. \r
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The preferred candidate should have experience preparing, reviewing, and submitting budgets. The preferred candidate should also have supervisory experience.\r
