Our work directly impacts the health care system, supporting the development of data-driven policies that aim to improve the quality and equity of care, while keeping costs affordable for Massachusetts families. As a Manager at CHIA, you will have the opportunity to:

Drive Evidence-Based Policy Development:

Harness your expertise in health policy analysis to delve into a diverse spectrum of healthcare enrollment, expenditure, and quality data, including the recently enhanced Massachusetts All-Payer Claims Database. Guide and mentor a team of analysts, instilling a culture of excellence in creating, planning, and delivering high-impact analytical products. As a manager, optimize the team's utilization of CHIA's data resources and other assets, fostering collaborative efforts that lead to meaningful outcomes.

4. Uphold Data Rigor and Accuracy:

Take a leading role in promoting advanced practices related to documentation, data quality assurance, and management. Your attention to detail and commitment to precision will be instrumental in upholding the integrity of our data and analyses. This commitment plays a crucial role in producing reliable insights that contribute significantly to evidence-based decision-making in health policy.

Here are the important qualifications we are looking for:

Analytic Innovator: Demonstrate a proven ability to develop new analytical projects that inform external stakeholders on fundamental research and policy domains. Your creative approach to problem-solving will contribute to impactful initiatives and drive positive change.

Proven Data Strategist: Showcase your strong data management skills, including the ability to query, manipulate, organize, and analyze different datasets. Proficiency in data tools and techniques (e.g., R, SAS, or SQL) will enable you to oversee the work of analysts and support unlocking key insights.

Logical Thinker: Exhibit the ability to synthesize and interpret complex information and concepts logically. Your analytical mindset will enable you to extract meaningful insights from data and communicate them effectively to different types of audiences.

Tech-Driven Professional: Familiarity with data visualization and business intelligence tools (like Tableau or Power BI) will be an advantage. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is essential.

Additional Qualifications: Professional Development Opportunities Available!

Educational Foundation: Possess a bachelor’s degree in social sciences, public policy, public health, or a quantitative field, providing the necessary foundational skills for success in this role.

Specialized Expertise: Bring at least four years of professional experience, focusing on at least three years of demonstrated proficiency in working with health care claims or encounter data to address policy questions.

Effective Communication: Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to articulate complex technical issues clearly and persuasively. Engage stakeholders and foster collaboration through compelling communication.
