About Chief of Staff Role
Chief of Staff will work with the partner as his trusted right hand. In this role, she or he will support investment, be responsible for investment transaction operations, and lead any strategic initiatives. Through this role, Chief of Staff will gain full and unfiltered visibility into the life of the fund of fund manager while acting as a liaison between the partner and all stakeholders. This job is open for either part-time or full-time.
Responsibility
Investment
Support due diligence of venture capital fund investment opportunities by attending investment meetings, performing the necessary research, and supporting follow-ups
Write investment notes and execute the fund investments
Conduct relevant technology, market, and industry research
Develop investment strategies and formulate investment plans
Be a trusted thought partner and liaison to the portfolio funds and any other important stakeholders
Build and manage the internal CRM database to manage the investment pipeline to streamline the investment process
Track companies and funds via their updates and data from other sources
Transactional Operation
Coordinate with prospective funds, general counsel, finance teams, and the fund administrator to execute investments quickly and responsibly
Coordinate with finance teams and the fund administrator to manage all capital call process
Maintain accurate and timely records of all transactions in the internal database
Ensure all investment documentation is properly stored
Provide general support for the firm’s back office operations
Requirements
Organized & detail-oriented smart generalist who can keep trains running on time
Ability to act proactively without needing to be micromanaged
Ideally, 2+ years of experience in startups/venture capital
If you speak Japanese, that will be a plus, but not a must
