Position: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA)
Scope of Care: We are seeking dedicated Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) to provide comprehensive clinical anesthesiology services for the Veterans’ Health Administration.
Location: Lebanon VA Medical Center, 1700 South Lincoln Avenue, Lebanon, PA, 17042
Duration and Schedule:
Start Date: July 7, 2024
End Date: December 6, 2024 (with options to extend)
Clinic Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with on-call services as required.
Responsibilities include: Providing clinical anesthesiology services for patients undergoing various types of surgery including general, orthopedic, plastic, ENT, urologic, podiatric, minor vascular, gynecology, endoscopy, dental/oral, and ophthalmologic operations.
Offering primary coverage for all patients in surgical intensive care, short stay units, acute and chronic pain management services, diagnostic transesophageal echocardiography, and emergency airway management.
Providing consultative services at the patient's bedside for non-ambulatory patients and in the clinic setting for ambulatory patients.
Ensuring timely presence for scheduled clinics/surgeries, documented by physical presence in the clinic or operating room at the scheduled start time.
Following all established medication policies and procedures without providing sample medications to patients.
Providing discharge education and follow-up instructions coordinated with the next care setting for all anesthesiology clinical or surgical patients.
Requirements: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from an accredited program.
National Certification for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs).
Additional Requirements: Current licensure to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia when services are performed onsite on VAproperty.
Board Certification/Board Eligibility by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA).
Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalency.
All continuing education courses required for maintaining certification must be kept up to date, with documentation provided annually.
Training Requirements: Contractors must meet all VA educational and mandatory course requirements, including but not limited to ACLS, BLS, EHR, Government Ethics, Suicide Prevention, and VA Privacy and Information Security Awareness.
Training frequency is typically annual for most required courses.
