Senior Backend Software EngineerLocation: Phoenix, AZJob Summary:We are seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer with 8+ years of experience to build secure, scalable, and resilient Digital Banking platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, distributed systems, Kafka, and cloud-native development, along with experience in high-volume financial or enterprise environments.Key Responsibilities:Design and develop scalable Java microservices, APIs, and event-driven applications.Work with distributed systems, Kafka, caching, fault tolerance, and high availability.Participate in architecture, code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and production readiness.Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across projects.Build secure, observable, and maintainable banking solutions.Required Skills:8+ years of software development experience.Strong Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, JUnit, JDBC, Maven/Gradle.Experience with Kafka/Kafka Streams and distributed systems.PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, or Cassandra.Docker, Jenkins, Git/GitLab, CI/CD.Strong REST APIs, microservices, scalability, performance, and reliability knowledge.Excellent communication and technical leadership skills.Nice to Have:GenAI/LLM, RAG, embeddings, vector search, AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, SQS), fintech/payment systems, and governance experience.
