N?rt?r is looking to add a General Manager in Columbus who will provide leadership, drive growth, and support the Aveda Institute and Salon + Spa operations.

A core part of the N?rt?r companies is the Aveda Institutes located in Cincinnati, OH, Columbus, OH, Indianapolis, IN, Chapel Hill, NC and Los Angeles, CA. In Columbus, the Institute, founded in 2004, serves up to two hundred students with a staff of 35-40. The Salon + Spa operates two retail locations in Upper Arlington and South High Street with a staff of 20.

At the Institutes, students receive invaluable, hands-on experience while providing services to a trendy and diverse clientele. When students graduate, they are prepared for a fulfilling career in the beauty industry.

The Aveda Institutes provide full salon and spa services performed by a talented team of supervised students participating in outstanding cosmetology and esthetics programs. Guest patronage supports students as they work toward a career in the beauty industry. Best of all, guests receive high quality services at an affordable price.

But more than that, the Aveda Institutes are committed to the values put forth by Avedas founder, Horst Rechelbacher, to encourage a lifetime of learning, environmental responsibility, and giving back to society.

**What Youll Be Doing:**

* Uphold the N?rt?r Core Values and Behaviors and Aveda Success Factors

* Manage and grow the Institute and Salon + Spa as profitable businesses while maintaining the standards as established by the Aveda Corporation.

* Build relationships with community partners and leaders for synergies and awareness.

* Partner with the Salon + Spa Manager and the Institute Director to grow both the retail and salon business.

* Promote and partner with the Columbus community (nonprofits, fashion shows, etc.) to build awareness for the Institute and Salon + Spa in the region.

* Collaborate with Institute Director and the Senior Director of Institutes to leverage their curriculum for the Aveda Institute Columbus and meet and exceed guest and student expectations.

* Ensure that the Institute budget is developed, profit goals are met, and programs are implemented for success.

* Promote collaboration between the Institute and Salon + Spa teams to create growth opportunities for both organizations.

* Facilitate and lead regularly scheduled meetings with team members and attend corporate leadership meetings as required.

* Work closely with the corporate Human Resources team to facilitate effective recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding processes, and communicate staffing needs.

* With the Institute Director and Salon + Spa Manger, coach team members.

* Support company initiatives by ensuring business goals are met as established by the President and Leadership Team.

* Collaborate with the corporate Marketing team to develop and implement guest and student outreach initiatives and raise the visibility of the Institute and the Salon + Spa in the greater Columbus market.

* Provide ongoing recognition, support, and motivation for all Institute and Salon + Spa team members.

* Serve as a role model by communicating and enforcing policies and procedures, safety and security standards, the Code of Conduct, and the dress code.

* Perform other duties as assigned and/or required to meet business needs

**The Key Requirements:**

**Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills, Experience*:***

* 10+ years proven management or leadership experience, preferably in the Higher Education, higher-end Retail, or Hospitality industry.

* Strong business acumen and experience managing a P&L.

* Track record of managing and growing a profitable, well-regarded market leader.

* Ability to bring new energy to the market and inspire team members to achieve their goals.

* Experience being the face of an organization with key customers and community organizations.

* Marketing and social media experience a plus.

* Ability to set and achieve goals, implement decisions, and work under strict deadlines.

* Ability to work a flexible schedule and/or on-call schedule, including evenings and weekends.

* Demonstrated ability to recruit, train and retain top talent.

* Exhibit self-direction, initiative, resourcefulness, and follow-through with the ability to work at a fast pace and handle multiple tasks and projects at the same time.

* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

* Demonstrate extreme professionalism in manner, dress, and conduct.

* High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

* College education or relevant work experience in a similar role.
