Community Work Services (CWS) was founded in 1877 as the Cooperative Society of Visitors Among the Poor of Boston to provide services to the poor of Boston and address the roots of poverty through employment, education, and housing improvements. Its founder, Annie Fields, is said to have been a transitional figure in the development of a professional social-service network. Mrs. Fields hoped to apply business principles and efficiency to benevolent activities and charity work. Today CWS provides job placement, training, and support services in the Boston area.

Job Title: Program Coordinator

Location: Boston, Massachusetts

Position Type: Full-time

Position Summary :

The Program Coordinator is part of a team that holds the responsibility of establishing a strong foundation for developing and growing exemplary workforce readiness, and support services for individuals who experience barriers to self-sufficiency in Boston. Ensures that all services and their administration adhere to best practices and conform to the highest practicable, ethical, professional, and legal standards for the provision of services. An individual in this position strives for excellence in all endeavors.

Essential Functions:

Primary responsibilities include Managing daily operations for workforce development programs, including supervision and professional development of applicable direct support staff, conducting outreach to state agencies, and referring partners to ensure the successful screening and expedient enrollment of program participants into CWS job preparation and training programs, and ensuring that all services are delivered, and the required reporting is completed as contracted.

Supervision: Provide orientation and oversight for program staff in the delivery of support services to individuals who experience barriers to employment. Responsible for developing and articulating agency expectations for exceptional service delivery and achievement of goals and objectives. Support case management team in delivering services that result in employment outcomes for participants consistent with their training and career goals. Deliver annual staff training when appropriate.

Program Implementation: Responsible for the development of programming schedules and services offered, as well as participant flow of services. Assign participants to case managers or refer to placement services. Review any grievance or incident reports and follow established guidelines as appropriate. Maintain a small caseload of CWS participants.

Program Development: Assist with the development and expansion of new and existing workforce development training programs that align with the agency's mission and values. Assist in identifying opportunities and provide needed programmatic outcome mission and values. Assist foundations. Participate in outreach as appropriate.

Compliance: Ensure that services are delivered and required reporting is completed as contracted. Assist in monitoring services and their administration to ensure adherence to best practices and the highest practicable, ethical, professional, and legal standards for the provision of services. Assist in the preparation of agency sites for accreditations such as DOL, CARF, and DDS Licensure when required. Coordinate Monthly Records Review and ETO (Efforts to Outcomes) case management database staff training and entry.

Fiscal: Support leadership team in ensuring that services delivered comply with services billed.

Leadership: Support the Director of Programs and Services as needed. Participate as an active member of the Boston leadership team. Participate in agency-wide initiatives, discussions, and workgroups that support overall continuous improvement and growth for Fedcap.

Education and Experience: Bachelor's Level in Vocational Rehabilitation, Counseling, Social Work or other relevant area with at least 2 years' case management experience and at least 1 year working in a human service/community-based setting.

Or

Associate's Level Degree in a related field with at least 3 years experience in case management and experience working with individuals with disabilities and/or other barriers. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

Experience working in and/or ability to demonstrate commitment to nonprofit work targeting economically disadvantaged populations; homeless, elderly, ex-offenders, low wage earners, individuals with disabilities, working families, un/underemployed and hard to place individuals, highly preferred.

High attention to detail, exceptional time management skills and strong organization skills

Ability to analyze situations, anticipate and/or detect problems and provide solutions

Aptitude to manage time and tasks efficiently with little supervision

Ability to think creatively and connect meeting business needs and social service goals

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Competitive, results driven personality with the ability to work well with others in a team

Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office tools

Bilingual (English-Spanish) a plus

Familiarity with Boston area businesses, providers, and resources required

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required as needed to support the objectives of business units within the portfolio.
