ElevatEd Seattle Community Manager - Seattle

Seattle, WA, United States

Location: Hybrid Position - remote in the Seattle area with limited hours in the Downtown Seattle office.

Hours: 25 hours per week, Part-time with benefits

The Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle is searching for a self-motivated and strategic thinking early childhood Jewish Education professional committed to core Jewish values who is excited to support programming for ElevatEd, a groundbreaking national pilot initiative bringing together leading Jewish communal institutions and funders to strengthen the field of Early Childhood Jewish Education (ECJE).

The initiative seeks to address the critical shortage of high-quality, certified early childhood teachers in Jewish settings for the wider Jewish Puget Sound community. An ideal candidate is adaptable and thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

As ElevatEd Seattle Community Manager you will play an essential role in establishing a cohesive and healthy ECJE ecosystem. As a member of the Federation’s professional team, you will be familiar with the local ECJE landscape and serve as a liaison to the national ElevatEd team.

The ElevatEd Seattle Community Manager will work closely with, and receive support, from the national ElevatEd staff and will join a cohort in a community of practice with other professionals in pioneer communities across the United States.

For more information about ElevatEd please visit their website.

Why We Want to Work with You:

You’re excited about the Jewish Federation’s mission in Seattle. As a facilitator, you strive to design group processes that are inclusive, impactful and creative. You can juggle (literally or metaphorically). You are a natural network-weaver able to connect with people both within and beyond the local early childhood Jewish community. You are decisive and have an intuitive sense about when you need to seek counsel and when you should just make the call. You’re an excellent communicator, intensely curious, and eager both to learn new things and to regularly question your own assumptions.

Why You Want to Work with Us:

You will be exposed to a wide range of people and issues in the Jewish, philanthropic, and nonprofit/social-impact sectors, as well as to the components of growing a new platform to build the field of early childhood Jewish education. You will work with an accomplished and diverse team in which each individual is committed to their own rapid development as well as to that of the team.

You’re attracted to this role, because as a naturally resourceful and self-motivated professional, you are energized by designing processes and systems to make things more effective and efficient and thrive when connecting people and turning ideas into realizable projects.

This position reports to the Director of Jewish Engagement, and is a non-exempt position.

Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate is a dedicated professional, who is invested in the purpose of ElevatEd. To be effective in this role, the individual must take initiative; have strong executive functioning skills, comfortably use technology; have a flexible and innovative mindset; and be able to balance a variety of tasks to elevate the field of early childhood. The Community Manager will be responsible for work in three discrete areas: Talent Recruitment, Educational Facilitation and Network-Weaving, Local Project Management and Administration.
