MISO seeks a Data Analyst II/Senior Data Analyst to join our Enterprise Analytics and Forensics Team. In this role, you'll be responsible for building out a cohesive data product and creating and executing statistical process controls and monitoring protocols. You will also examine extensive datasets to identify patterns and trends, evaluate data integrity, and effectively communicate analytical findings and uncertainties.
As our Data Analyst II/Senior Data Analyst , you will:
Apply mathematical and analytical methodologies to assess and evaluate the performance of MISO’s markets
Analyze market trends, partners, and technologies to accurately predict market and operational outcomes
Analyze a variety of datasets to perform statistical and economic analysis on system and market operations, participant activities, pricing, demand-supply discrepancies, and market anomalies to detect correlations
Identify and understand business issues and map these issues into quantitative questions.
Create algorithms and data models that support cross-functional data-driven decision-making and problem-solving
Analyze Electrical Markets, Grid Operations, and System Planning data to drive insights.
Understand the principles, practices, and administration of electricity markets, transmission/generation construction, and system operations
Support the data governance team in data discovery and metadata management and adhere to data governance standards, guidelines, and best practices
To be successful as our Data Analyst II/Senior Data Analyst , we’re looking for the following skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Econometric, IT or related field and 3-8 years of experience
Python/PySpark coding experience
Expertise in SQL and ability to write complex queries for data analysis and prototyping
Familiarity with data governance concepts is desired
Familiarity with Tableau/Power BI and visual storytelling
Familiarity with data analytics and business intelligence models and tools
Microsoft Azure cloud familiarity is a plus|
Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.
