Vice President, Finance and Accounting

General:
Vice President of Finance and Accounting to oversee accounting staff of four (including an Accounting Manager) for rapidly growing master system integrator in the building technology systems arena. Qualified candidate will report directly to the COO and executive team and will also continue to build relationships with external key partners such as accounting, banking, bonding and funding entities.
Significant experience with construction job cost accounting, particularly Foundation Software, is critical. Knowledge of other software platforms such as Smartsheet, McCormick and Executive HQ a plus. Of course, will have strong Excel skills.
Demonstrated leadership in managing a finance and accounting team required.
Good people skills a must.

Certifications such as MBA and/or CPA valuable, but not essential if the right candidate can show expertise and multiple years of managing an accounting and finance team for a rapidly growing construction organization.

Responsibilities
Ensure all Company accounting processes such as GL, A/R, A/P, payroll (including certified payroll), expense reimbursement, commissions, collections, separate accounting requirements for individual Joint Ventures, etc., are conducted and maintained in an as efficient manner as possible.
Provide leadership for Company cash management.
Oversee development and refining of monthly reporting for external CPA, bank, bonding company and Company executives.
Oversee ancillary employee programs such as 401K, HSA, etc.
Continue to improve Company accounting processes for more and more accurate and real time information to be made available to Company staff.
Oversee Company financial review (for 2023) and audits (for 2024 and later).
Oversee and ensure compliance for all tax reporting and timely payments.
Assist Company Estimating and Preconstruction teams with feedback on predictive cost modelling.
Investigate, identify and analyze cost variances and provide reporting with recommendations for remediation.
Contribute to Company strategy in determining the most valuable business lines and initiatives.
Lead budget planning for Company and each department.
Review and improve internal Company controls and accountability.
Ensure compliance for all regulatory issues.
Liaise with vendors such as commercial and other key external partners.
Generally work from the office with some work from home opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience:
Ten years or more experience managing construction job costing for general or other contractor type.
University degree in Accounting, Finance or a related subject.
CPA, MBA or on the job demonstrated expertise or certification in construction accounting and experience.
Good familiarity with Foundation Software.
Have overseen company audits previously.
Excellent references.
Pay Band:
$110,000 - $130,000 plus benefits
