Job Description Job Description Job Summary:
The Systems Administrator will provide high-level technical support and systems analysis to identify, prevent, and resolve service interruptions in the organization's networks and systems.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
May provide training and guidance to junior technical support staff.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Analyzes software and hardware needs for the organization
Assesses hardware/software systems, applications, and processes to facilitate a larger information systems (IS) strategy
Collaborates with other staff, including systems and network administrators to explain errors, resolve problems and/or recommend modifications to systems and networks
Conducts information systems audits to ensure system information is secure from breach and unauthorized access and to assess the efficiency and efficacy of data recovery programs
Coordinates service or replacement of defective products from vendors and manufacturers
Develops and authenticates IS business continuity plans
Directs, oversees, and assists with the selection, implementation, and installation of software applications, hardware, and IT systems used by the organization
Upholds acceptable use policies and adheres to documented process & procedures
Ensures IS-related projects and tasks are completed within specifications, on time, and within budget
Ensures proper computer and network access for system users
Ensures timely and accurate notification of system and network issues are being communicated to the business and that all outages are being escalated accordingly with our vendor/carrier partners
Escalation point of contact for all major issues
Guides users through diagnostic and troubleshooting processes, which may include use of diagnostic tools and software and/or following verbal instructions
Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in information technology, alerting senior staff of the effects widespread software and hardware revisions, changes, and discontinuation will have on the organization's systems and operations
Maintains logs of support services provided in the ticketing system or other appropriate database (such as knowledge management system)
Monitors system usage to confirm that employees have the proper level of information access
Oversees backup of company information in case of disaster or data loss
Plans and conducts user training to provide overviews of system use and best practices
Provides technical expertise, leadership, and project coordination services to support and maintain continuity of the organization's computer systems and networks
Researches, identifies, and evaluates expanding or enhanced computer operations; makes recommendations for improvement and upgrades to hardware and software to manage workload, system requirements, and improve the stability of systems and networks
Takes a lead role in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the data recovery aspects of the organization's disaster recovery plan
Performs other related duties as assigned
Ensure that all client process and procedures have been implemented, understood, and followed
Participate and promote the company's culture including, but not limited to, the company's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion plan
Ensure proper use of MDS equipment and sensitive security information and reports
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to explain technical issues to technical and nontechnical staff
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent time management skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Advanced knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy
Superior understanding of severs and networks
Proficient with or able to quickly learn to use a broad array of networking and systems hardware and software
Basic understanding of laws and regulations regarding the EEOC and ADA
Ability to provide practical solutions to complex problems in an independent work environment
Required Certifications:
CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or CompTIA Security+
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience, required
At least five years of related experience required
