**Position Summary:**
The driver position is responsible for safely operating a commercial motor vehicle, and providing prompt and complete collection services.
**Primary Duties:**
* Performs complete pre and post operation inspection of a commercial vehicle in accordance with FCC policy to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels; safety equipment, gauges, etc. are in proper working order.
* Responsible for the safe operation of commercial vehicles on assigned routes to include highways, residential communities and alleyways
* Operate manual and/or automatic controls in accordance with FCC's safety policies and procedures.
* Courteously interact with all necessary personnel, dispatchers, and others on a daily basis to ensure all services are completed in a timely and professional manner.
* Continuously monitor the condition of the vehicle to ensure it is operationally ready at all times to minimize down time
* Accurately complete required documents and other reports as required
* Maintain adherence to required productivity standards for the department to ensure all customers are serviced in a timely and efficient manner
* Responsible for adhering to and upholding all safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications **Education:**
* High School diploma or GED
**Experience and Competencies:**
* Class B commercial drivers license
* Ability to lift or carry heavy objects as necessary
* Must meet all qualification as defined under Department of Transportation regulations
* Drug free workplace. Substance abuse policies are in effect. Substance abuse testing is a condition of the initial on-boarding process and the continuation of employment.
